I just love how this one turned out, I reminds me so much of sherbet ice cream! I made it using four shades of Simply Soft yarn and a 4.5mm hook. Measuring 30″ x 30″ making it perfect for a security blanket.
I used the pattern below and plan on translating the chart into a written pattern for practice. 🙂
slst (slip stitch)
dc (double crochet)
dc3tog (double crochet 3 stitches together)
Yarn over (YO) hook, insert hook in stitch (st), pull up a loop (lp), 3 lps on hook. YO hook, pull through 2 lps. YO hook insert in next st, pull up a lp, 4 lps on hook. YO, pull through 2 lps, 3 lps on hook. YO, insert hook in next st. YO, pull up a lp, 5 lps on hook. YO, draw through 2 lps, 4 lps left on hook. YO draw through all 4 lps left on hook.
Round 1: Ch 6 and slst into starting ch to form a ring.
Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1), dc, chain one 15 more times inside ring. Slst in to starting ch 3. (16 dc and 16 ch spaces)
Round 3: Ch 3, continue with remaining portion of 3dctog. Ch 3, 3dctog in each ch 1 space around. Sl st into top of first 3dctog.
Round 4: Ch 1. Sc in ch 3 space, ch 5 sc in next ch 3 space, twice. For corner spaces, (5 dc, ch 4, 5 dc), sc in next ch 3 space. Continue around in this manner and slst into starting sc.
Please message me with any tips in phrasing and corrections for my written pattern. I would like to learn how to improve my written instructions as much as I can.
